Students were encouraged to speak to each other in rotation and describe themselves and friends using the new vocabulary, applying the simple present tense grammar rules. At the end, they've chosen their class freak-friend and described them.

— Activity

Teacher read the poem "Eu", by Florbela Espanca, in Portuguese one time. The second time the poem was read in English and translated to Portuguese, sentence by sentence, by the students. Then, they discussed the topic and what they understood about the writer's emotions through the poem. At last, students were encouraged to write their own versions of the poem, with a fun take on it.

Students learnt new vocabulary and discussed their habits, exchanging their quirky mannerisms and what they thought was new and different in Portugal, comparing to their own cultural habits.

Intermediate level class learns about important portuguese figures and roleplay on a 'speed-date' format.

— Activity

Students learnt about important historical figures, both in art and politics. After writing down key words and new vocabulary, they each got a small piece of paper with a name written on it (one of the characters they learnt about) and they had to role-play these characters and talk to each other, without revealing who they were. At the end, everyone guessed who each other were.
