§ Self-assessment
Which level am I?
A two-minute guide. If you're between two levels, pick the lower one as a starting point. Every lesson is focused on a different conversation topic, and we will work through that topic as per level. It is better to be extra comfortable and learn a couple of new words, then to be lost in further grammar seas.
Olá, eu sou…
You can say your name, order a coffee and panic. You know roughly five verbs. We start here without judgement.
Posso pagar?
You survive in shops, restaurants and short small talk. The past tense exists in theory.
Acho que sim… / Pois, pois.
You hold a conversation if the other person is patient, or argue with your landlord with confidence. You read menus and watch films with subtitles. The subjunctive haunts you, but you're no longer running from it.
Dito isto…
You make jokes in Portuguese and most of them land. You read Pessoa and lie about understanding all of it. At this level, classes become the Reading Salon — advanced reading sessions in Portuguese.
